Pearl Academy of Fashion (PAF) was set up in 1993 by Pearl Global Ltd., One of India’s largest export houses, with the objective of cognitive and intellectual skills, to fulfill the growing and changing needs of the evolving Apparel Industry. PAF’s avowed aim is to shape future leaders or India’s fashion, design and textile and retail industry, by constantly delivering the highest international standards.
Currently twelve courses are offered by the Academy at UG / PG levels in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Jewellery Design, Fashion, Retail, Merchandising, production, Communication Design, Photography and Media Make - up. Over 1000 students are currently enrolled in UG / PG courses and nearly 1500 students have passed out, many holding esteemed positions. At present the Academy has three campuses in India - New Delhi, Jaipur and Chennai. The Academy takes pride in its high caliber faculty, outstanding track record in student exchange, international net working and placement.
PAF also advocates the development of the personnel in Industry & others by offering short - term certificate courses to help personnel / industry to fulfill their need to advance their career / needs.
PAF Chennai campus was set up in March 2006 in the heart of the city housing entire gamut of facilities required. Currently two Post Graduate diploma programs (Textile Design - Home Textiles & Fashion Mrchandising) and two B.A. (honours) Degree Programs (Fashion Design & Fashion Merchandising and Production) are being conducted. All UG Programs are validated by Nottingham Trent University, UK.
PAF Chennai as per part of the Academy’s aim at imparting knowledge and skills is starting from term courses for the benefit of working personnel and professionalnsin the Industry. The first program wii be a 6 month (part-time). Certificate course in Apparel Merchandising starting from October 06 to March 07.
The Course is designed to encapsulate the various aspects of merchandising and production functions, providing the technical / theoritical inputs along with practical orientation as evidenced in industry. The course will strive to create synergy by integrating various functions in the Apparel Industry.
The curriculum is structured to impart working knowledge and skills on various aspects of Merchandising, Production, Commercial, Quality Control and Logistics with accent on practical applications, case studies and internships.
