V. G. Venkatesh

Mr V.G Venkatesh, an Associate Professor & Leader for Business & Technology related UG & PG Courses in Pearl Academy of Fashion (PAF) - Chennai campus, specializes in the areas of Supply Chain Management and Operations Management. With the Masters in Manufacturing Management from BITS, Pilani & Post Graduation in Garment Manufacturing Technology (GMT) from NIFT, he has strong background in academics blended with the Industry knowledge from Central America, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh & supported by many National level merit scholarships / awards. He has also done his Post Graduate program in Higher Education from Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham, UK.  He has been with Chennai campus from its inception, actively involved in Academic and Industrial Networking at National and International level. Having over 9 years of experience in Academics as well as Industry, he shows a high amount of passion towards Pedagogy and Innovative methods of teaching in Fashion and Apparel Industry and also for its current trend & applications. He is actively involved in various Faculty Development Programmes/ workshops for the Apparel field. He has authored a SLIM material/book for IGNOU - Fashion Merchandising Program, research articles in leading Journals and Magazines and presented Research papers in various National and International Conferences.

Rita Constantine

Ms. Constantine was trained under Late Mr Karvoyle Simonis, a designer and pupil of Christian D’ior. She assisted him in developing Couture samples for various European Fashion Houses for 15 years. She joined in Pearl in 1995 and has worked in various capacities from tutor to course leader. She actively participated in pedagogical development for UG, PG & M.A programmes in the design department. She was also a freelance costume designer for ‘Delhi Music Theatre’ and a mentor in the organization Bharat Yuva Trust. She won the JRD Tata Award for being one of the best three mentors at a national level. She has been conducting workshops for trainees in the industry for post graduate students & NGO organizations.

K. Sasi Kumar

Mr. Sasikumar has a MFA degree with specialization in ceramics and works as an Assistant Professor at Pearl Academy of Fashion. Hailing from an Artisan family Mr. Sasikumar’s ultimate goal is to be a reputed Artist and Create bench mark in the Art movement, creating a inerasable footprint. He specializes in Material Exploration - Sculpture

M. Manoharan

Mr. Manoharan has 24 year’s service at various SITRA's power loom service centers as technical asst. and officer-in charge. He has conducted many training and seminars for the industry. In association with Pearl Academy of Fashion, Chennai campus, he has been working as the Senior Lecturer since 2007, specializing in all technical aspects of Weaving, Woven Design and Fabric Study.       

K. Kumaraguru

Kumaraguru has completed his Diploma and B.Tech in PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore as a Instructor & Faculty in Textile CAD Laboratory in the year of 2000-2006. He has conducted various CAD related short term programs in area of Textile & Fashion Design to industry and students, and he has done various CAD related consultancy work in Coimbatore and Karur sectors. His interest are in the areas like Jacquard Designing, Saree Designing, Retail Graphics, Interior CAD. He has presented a paper in an international conference on “Application of Graphic Software in Handloom Product Design in the conference of “Software for Textile and Clothing Industries” conducted by School of Materials, University of Manchester, UK in May 2009. He has completed PGCHE Program from NTU, UK. He is currently pursuing M.Tech (Apparel Technology & Management).

Umamaheswari P.T

P.T.Umamaheswari has a B.Tech ( Textile) and is a senior lecturer. She specializes in Merchandising, Costing and Fabric Sourcing. 11 Years of Experience in Textiles / Garment Industry, Shifted her career to teaching. She has recently completed Post Graduate Certification in Higher Eucation offered by Nottingham Trent University, UK.

Aarthi

A Design student of NIFT specialised as a Visual Merchandiser, she continues to learn and find inspiration from the great masters and continual research. She has worked with some the top retail brands like Levi’s. She finds her interests lying in the areas of Retail Design and Visual Merchandising.

Pradeep kannan S

Mr. Kannan is a graduate in Fashion Design from NIFT, Chennai and has more than 8 years of industry experience in specialized areas of Fashion Illustration, Graphic designing, Portfolio Development and CAD. He has worked on numerous projects of Fashion Illustration and Graphic Designing for international market and is currently working as a senior lecturer at Pearl Academy of Fashion.

N. Murugaiyan

Mr. Murugaiyan has an M.A. in economics and has 16 years of experience in Production and Technical Areas of the industry and Industrial consultancy. He is actively involved in the development of the new techniques in the Pattern Drafting. He is currently a lecturer with the Pearl Academy of Fashion.

Ranjan De

A graduate in Visual Communication Design from NID, Ahemdabad, Mr. De has 25 years of work experience as a Graphic Designer who has specialised working in the field of Visual Communications with particular emphasis on advertising design, packaging design, education design, illustrating and creating innovative books for children, puppetry and innovative education. For the past six years he has been developing innovative learn shops and approaches to changing curriculums in both design schools and mainstream schools all over India. Among other activities, he also trains faculty and teachers in mainstream schools/ design schools to innovate in new approach to delivering and exciting minds. He specializes in Pre-Visualisation tools – Storyboarding; Mindmapping, Character development in animation, Die-cut design for packaging, Pop-up cards and paper engineering, Logo Design and Corporate Identity, Freelance writing – Art, film, book & food reviews and interviews, travel writing, Children's book illustration, Innovative stop-motion animation, Puppetry using locally available materials, Documentary and travel photography, Innovating and mentoring in design education.
