As students pursue their goals at Pearl, they spend time with the faculty and peers on learning, reflecting, creating and sharing ideas. Pearl educational process is experiential and project based. Students undertake numerous practical projects, some real life, which provide for creative opportunities and pragmatic outcomes.
Involves Teamwork and Peer Evaluation
Lectures and talks are only to the extent necessary. Tutorials, self and peer assessment, discussions and community interactions drive the learning pathway.
Promotes Research and Self-Study
Individual projects enable students to initiate research and self-study. They receive a variety of inputs and use these to independently carry decisions to a conclusion
Emphasizes Industry Relevance
The Academy encourages field trips and off-campus workshops. Course tutors and industry experts mentor and monitor industry internship. Interactions with industry leaders, live projects and participation in International / National competitions help sharpen skills and knowledge. Students conduct seminar presentations during the final semester, where industry experts critically evaluate the nature and direction of their work.
Inculcates Life Skills
Students are encouraged to voice their opinions in open and frank discussions. Crucial life skills such as communication, negotiation and an appreciation for diversity are developed. In addition, a strong mentorship and guidance programme delivered through Course Leader, Course Coordinator and Student Counselor, supports learning inside and outside the classroom.
Beyond The Classroom
A 360 degree approach of learning through various activities like Fabric Folio-at the Texstyles Trade Fair, Synthesis-a public forum for presenting student business projects, Open Works-a showcase of communication design projects, Thread Works-a display of final collection by Textile students, Bejewelled, an exhibition of final collection of Jewellery and Accessories Design students, Pearl Utsav-the annual extracurricular festival, Foundation Show-exhibiting outputs of foundation students, and Sports Day. International conferences are organized regularly under the aegis of Continuum.
Plan Clan

Fabric Folio
The Tex-Styles Fair is an annual event organised by the International Trade Promotion Organisation of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry to showcase Indian textiles to the world. It is attended by more than 3000 buyers from across the globe. On the invitation of ITPO, the Academy showcases trend-based fabric samples created by Textile Design students every year in a pavilion called 'FABRIC FOLIO'.
Pearl Utsav
"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." Indeed, in the creative disciplines, extra-curricular activities are closely linked with the formal curriculum. "PEARL UTSAV" is an event organized annually by students to serve as a platform for demonstrating talent in music, drama, dance and other performing arts.
Bejewelled
Bejewelled is a public event for exhibiting the final works of the Jewellery & Accessories Design students. In the process of learning the students undergo a rigorous training and hands on experience of the industry. It provides the students a platform to equip themselves with technicalities.
Bottomline
Bottomline is an event that marks the culmination of knowledge and skills gained by Fashion Marketing students through their 2-year Post Graduate Diploma programme in PAF. The FMG students are given "branding" problems from the fashion industry and which they attempt to solve by:

Consumer analysis, trend forecast, product development, supply chain analysis, global benchmarking and project management Skills Research skills, data interpretation, synthesize strategies, build on ideas and work in groups with time management
Open Works
'OPEN WORKS' is an exhibition of the Communication Design final year students' projects, and is visited by leading personalities representing a wide spectrum of the creative industries. 'OPEN WORKS' offers the industry a glimpse of the rich and varied talent in the Academy that students bring forth to the display.
Foundation Recap
The journey to the final display starts with early steps in Foundation .Students get to showcase their creative talent in the Foundation Recap. Held twice a year on the Academy's premises "FOUNDATION RECAP" is the best means to give budding talent the goal to surpass limits.
International Conferences and Continuum
Every two years, the Academy organizes an International Conference inviting distinguished design, management, technology and retail professionals from all over the world to speak on current themes and topics.
