Student Achievements
- Varun Gambhir a Fashion Merchandising PG student of Pearl Academy of Fashion won the Role of Materials in a Sustainable Fashion Industry Award at Fashioning the Future the International Student Awards for Sustainability in Fashion organised by The Centre for Sustainable Fashion at London College of Fashion. His concept was to produce sustainable fabric. He explored the technical & commercial viability of a fabric made out of recycled cotton paper.
- Communication Design graduate Copal Mathur's final degree project animation film 'In the beginning' won special jury mention in 'CHITRAKATHA' International animation students film festival organized by NID from 29th to 31st Oct 2009
- VARUN ARORA (FD 06-10) was selected as “The finalists of the emerging “designer of the year” contest. The contest was organized by FDCI and Van Heusen during Van Heusen India Mens Week on the 12th Sept 2009.
- Rohit Mittal, aluminus of PAF was invited by British Fashion Council to present his Spring/Summer Collection for 2010 at London Fashion Week held from September 18-22, 2009, London.
- Ms. Kriti Tula FD 2006-10 won the 2nd runner up title - “Triumph Inspiration Award 2009" amongst the 15 finalists from the different fashion institutes across the country who showcased their creations to a Jury.
- Mr. Varun Arora, Mr. Gurmaan Chawla, Mr. Aarzu Husnain and Ms. Kriti Tula(FD Level 3) was selected for the final round of “Triumph Inspiration Award 2009".
- An article “Kanban - Withdrawal & Production Card” published in the Stitch World, September ’09 issue written by Ms. Anjana Seshan, Final Year student of Undergraduate Program in Fashion Merchandising & Production (FMP) and Mr. V. G. Venkatesh, Associate Professor, FMP Program, Pearl Academy of Fashion, Chennai
- Students of Fashion Merchandising and Production-VII, Fashion Merchandising-III, Garment Manufacturing-III and Fashion Business Management-I participated in an online collaboration with Champlain College, USA on the theme of Human Trafficking for four weeks from September 15th to October 15th, 2009
